“I have a 4-year-old son who I love more than anything. I became a single mother after leaving an abusive relationship and taking out a DV order against his father due to domestic and sexual abuse.

For the past four years, I’ve been raising my son on my own. It has been incredibly hard at times, but I continue to stay strong for him every day.

Six months ago, I went through one of the hardest experiences of my life. I would have had a daughter, but after losing my home and car in a flood and feeling like I had lost everything, I made the heartbreaking decision to have an abortion at 12 weeks.

Since then, my mental health has been deeply affected. I still think about her every day and miss her so much.

I even got kicked out from my grandma’s house after everything had happened because her boyfriend couldn’t handle the noise so I was in the streets until I found a granny flat.”
